Letter 18900108

January 8, 90
Garden Grove, Ia.

Mr. Delk,
It is with pleasure this Sab. Morning I find myself seated to pen you a few lines in answer to that of yours which came to hand the (?). This leaves me enjoying health , hoping it may find you the same. I did not go home Fri. I was glad to hear you was expecting a business there. I presume you like the business better every day.
We had a miserable storm here New Years Day which consisted of wind and snow. . It drifted the east and west roads all most full. But we are having very nice weather since. The ground isn’t frozen scarcly a bit.
I am getting along at school very nicely. I like it much better than I did last year. J. W. is getting along well as far as I know.
I suppose you are flying high with that young lady of yours aren’t you? How is F. O. making it or is he making it at all? As for the good Keller that you spoke of I do not know whether she has a chap going with her or not. I haven’t saw her since the party at Arney’s.
Dolly and Virg were accompanied to Indianola by Misses Cora Richyan and the good Alice Smith. They contemplate tending school there. I expect she is hunting another failos (fellow), don’t you. That is Alice I mean.
Elmer if that country is any rougher than the road between here and home I don’t want any thing to do with it. The sleighs are just sifting today. I wish I had a sleigh here. I believe I would go for a sleigh ride if I had to go by myself. Is there any snow there now. If there is I suppose you are all right if you have a sleigh.
I close asking you to excuse a short and poorly written letter for I have written in a very big hurry. Allso to answer if it wort answering.
I remain ever a friend,
Yours respectfully,
Frank John

Luck to you in business.
