My Dear Niece

I recieved your Ever welcome letter last night will answer it before I forget it. I am still improving fast as any one can have a good collar but am weak and poor but the weather for the last 19 days has ben awful wind and rain the worst storms I’ve ever seen in Oregon. Set here all alone day and night it is enough Doc says to kill any body but me and I am to tuff to Die.

Well Dear I would not be here if I could help it. I would be with you and your Dear Mother to help you with your Garden as that is my hobby. A fine garden and 4 or 5 hundred fine hens. I shure know how to handle both or at least my Neighbors say I do and I guess they know since they most of them lived of free garden and free Eggs.

Bring that baby girl out here and give her to me Dear. Am sorry to hear of the sickness back there Mary Dear did you ever talk with Lina & Oscar about me since they got back a year ago. Well I hope you are all well and thank you ever so much for your lovely Easter card write when you have time Dear.

Love & best wishes to all, your Uncle
