My Dear Niece & all will try to write you a fiew lines to let you know I am still alive after 11 days of the worst I have ever been since I have been sick Recieved your letters on from you & from your father 1 from Elma was not able to Read any of them for 2 days am better again but am so week I cant walk but a fiew steps but hope to bee better soon it seems to be my lungs mostly Moved out here Saturday my friends say I must Stay to September first but I cant Promise for I must try to wok some to Earn a little to Pay Back Borrowed money.

I did knot know what I was Runing into when I came back here or I would not have Ever came back tell your Pa the Old Columbia has 2 boats still stuck in the ice up at the Dalls the Ground froze 11 1/2 inches deep at Glen Cullen Right in South west Suberbs of Portland So you can see what I run into and has not thawed out yet Portland is dead but look tough as any Place you Ever Seen I am 12 miles out of Portland well Tell Pa I will write to him soon hope you are all well love to all address
